FFSSA Sheep Registration Step by Step Instructions
There are two types of Sheep Registrations:
-
Approved Registrations for sheep 22 months and older and,
-
Provisional Registrations for sheep less than 22 months who have two FFSSA registered parents.
Approved Registrations
Step 1) Join FFSSA as a Senior, Junior, or Associate with Registry Privileges member. If you are a Senior or Junior member you have already had your sheep micron tested and will need to determine which sheep on your OFDA 2000 Report to register. You will also submit the NASSA registration certificate if one or both of the sheep’s parents are NOT FFSSA registered.
Step 2) If you are an Associate Member with Registry Privileges and have NOT micron tested your sheep, take a mid-side sample from each sheep as outlined here and send samples for testing.
Step 3) When you have the OFDA 2000 Report, write the sheep name on this report for each sheep you want to register. The report is ready to submit.
Step 4) Scan the front and back of each sheep’s NASSA registration certificate. The back side of the registration certificate should include the name of the sheep. (NASSA certificate is not required if both parents are FFSSA registered.)
Step 5) Fill out a Fleece Performance Approval and Provisional Registration Form.
Step 6) Scan and send documents to the FFSSA/GLM Registry via email at: FFSSA@glmregistry.com. If sending documents by US Mail send copies to:
